A Holiday Wish

Next week will be Christmas and I wanted to give a little Holiday wish to all my friends. We celebrate Christmas, but we don't worship in the traditional way. We celebrate the spirit of what Jesus taught, Peace and Love for our fellow man. We also respect and celebrate all religions that have a similar philosophy. I think Jesus would have wanted it that way.

So to all of you, whatever you Believe or Don't believe, I wish you the best, because for me this time of year is a time of love and miracles. You have supported me and my family in the most warm and wonderful way and my heart has grown 10 times because of it (maybe more).

I have to add a Holiday wish. I've been following the story of Erika and her Daughter Emerson for over 2 years. Emerson has received multiple transplants twice now and has had many complications. Since that posting her daughter has had more complications, although it happens often to Little Emerson and she always makes it through. Prayers and Positive thought for Emerson and her family are always welcome.

I also want to thank all of you for the Prayers and Positive thoughts for my son. He was born with a very serious congenital heart defect. He had a temporary surgery when he was 3 days old and open heart when he was one year old. We knew that wasn't a permanent fix. When he was nine the Doctors tried to do a balloon angioplasty to open his tiny pulmonary artery with no success. We were told that he would get weaker and weaker and would start failing around the age of 20.

When my son was 19 he did get very sick. We were told that what he needed to have corrected was impossible, because he needed repair under his heart and that the surgery would be much longer that the 6 hours max to be on a heart lung pump. The heart has to be stopped, and after 6 hours there is a risk that the heart won't start again. But as fate would have it, we had another miracle. The only Dr in the world who could do the surgery in less than 6 hours happened to be working at the Cleveland Clinic at that time. My son got a mechanical valve, a cadaver valve and a huge patch on his pulmonary artery. And for the first time in his life, he had a normal heart beat.

We were told at the time, that he might need more surgery in ten to twenty years, and recently we found that the cadaver valve is leaking, causing his heart to enlarge. He will need surgery soon and there are only a few hospitals that can do what he needs. Scar tissue is always a big concern.  We are hoping that the Cleveland Clinic can perform another miracle.

So you see, I have had many miracles in my life, and that is how the other bumps are so tolerable. Thank you again my friends.
